FAQs

Homeopathy

What is homeopathy?
Homeopathy is a system of holistic medicine that uses highly diluted natural substances to stimulate the body’s own healing response. It considers your physical, emotional, and mental state together, rather than treating symptoms in isolation. Remedies are selected based on your unique experience, not just your diagnosis.

How does homeopathy work?
Homeopathic remedies are made from natural substances that, in larger amounts, could cause symptoms similar to the illness being treated. Through a process of repeated dilution and shaking, called potentization, the remedies are prepared in a way that stimulates the body’s own healing response.

Is homeopathy safe?
Yes. Homeopathic remedies are non-toxic, non-addictive, and gentle enough to be used with infants, pregnant women, seniors, especially sensitive people, and even pets. They work without interfering with conventional medications and have no harmful side effects when properly prescribed.

What kinds of conditions can homeopathy treat?
Homeopathy is used for a wide range of conditions, from physical symptoms like allergies, digestive issues, and skin problems to emotional struggles like anxiety, grief, fatigue, and burnout.

What should I expect from my first appointment?
Your first consultation is a deep dive into your health story, past and present. We’ll discuss your physical symptoms, emotional well-being, stress patterns, and overall sensitivities. This information helps me match you with the remedy that best fits your unique situation. Everything discussed is entirely confidential. Plan for the visit to last 1.5 - 2.0 hours.

Do I have to believe in homeopathy for it to work?
No belief required. Many people come to homeopathy with healthy skepticism, especially after trying other options without success. What often changes their mind is the result, not the theory. You don’t need to be convinced; you just need to be open to seeing what happens.

How long does it take to see results?
It depends on the person and the condition. Acute issues may respond quickly, within minutes or hours. Chronic conditions usually shift more gradually as the body rebalances. Your treatment plan is tailored to you, and we’ll track progress together.

Can homeopathy be used with conventional medicine?
Yes, many use homeopathy as a complementary therapy. In fact, it’s commonly chosen by people looking to reduce reliance on medications gradually or support themselves while undergoing other treatments. I will always work with your current health plan, not against it.

How are remedies taken?
Most remedies come in the form of small sugar pellets that dissolve under the tongue, easy and painless. In some cases, remedies may be provided in liquid form. Instructions will always be clear and tailored to your specific needs.

Are homeopathic remedies regulated?
In the U.S., homeopathic remedies are regulated by the FDA as over-the-counter drugs but are subject to different standards than conventional medications.

Is this like herbal medicine or supplements?
Not quite. While remedies are made from plants, minerals, or natural substances, they are prepared through a unique process of dilution and succussion (vigorous shaking). The final product contains little to no molecules of the original substance, but retains its healing properties. This makes them different from herbs or vitamins, they don’t work biochemically, but rather through subtle energetic signaling.

Remedies
For your convenience, remedies are available directly through my office. They are USA-made, lactose-free (sucrose-based), and carefully chosen for quality and consistency.
Remedies are billed separately from consultations, (most are $15; combination remedies may be slightly more, depending upon the number of substances included). You’re always welcome to source elsewhere, though I can only ensure the quality of remedies provided here.
